Dear Readers,

It gives me immense pleasure to publish the 6th volume of Podar Prabodhan.

Our vision while embarking on publishing ‘PODAR PRABODHAN’ was to provide an authentic platform for young researchers with innovative thoughts without the barriers of subject domain and language restrictions. This seamless exercise which follows the modern day maxim of ‘seamless world’ definitely enabled us to publish articles that are as diverse as the mission defined.

The research culture at Podar College is not only to provide a no cost platform for publicising the ideas and innovative thoughts but also to enable the thought process to reach as many as possible. The Editorial team reviews the articles sent after the plagiarism check which is mandatory. We express our sincere thanks to the contributors who walk through the research process along with us. Their openness to our suggestions and readiness to incorporate changes has made our publication retain the name it holds in the field of research publications.

This issue largely covers the recent developments in the world economy in select sectors with particular reference to financial markets. The appetite for innovative financial products in the emerging financial markets in India and across the world is visible through the eyes of the contributors. Risk management which has become an inevitable aspect of financial markets has received coverage in this edition. This issue of ‘PODAR PRABODHAN’ will not only serve as an eye opener but also lead towards new vistas for further research.

While thanking the contributors for sharing their ideas I dedicate this volume to our founders.They were the true educationists who spearheaded the higher education process 130 years ago in the state of Maharshtra and proved how education impacts society and community. They stood for ecouraging creativity, curiosity and compassion. PODAR PRABODHAN ia a step in that direction.
